DIRTY Scum NYPD Cops Not Wearing Masks Beat Man, Threaten to Arrest Others “For Not Wearing a Mask”
New York, NY — Violent cops in New York appear to be loving the COVID-19 lockdown and the apparent pass it gives them to dole out beatings to anyone who doesn’t obey their every dictate. There is no shortage of videos of this violence either.
A 20-year-old Brooklyn man was beaten and arrested this week because he was less than six feet away from his friends. According to the arrest report, Stephon Scott and three others were stopped by police “for failing to social distance. All were within six feet of each other.”
When Scott refused to be put in handcuffs for doing nothing other than standing next to his friends, the cops violently took him to the ground and began punching him in the head. Officer Michael Amello then jumps up, pulls out his baton and begins threatening the other teens standing on the steps, yelling at them to “go inside!”
The group of cops then threaten to arrest the bystanders “for not wearing a mask,” which was entirely hypocritical. As the Gothamist points out:
He subsequently threatens to arrest the witnesses for “not wearing a mask,” as another officer, who is not wearing any face covering, approaches the group. None of the three officers are properly wearing masks, which were not covering their noses during the incident captured on video.
Scott was charged with resisting arrest, obstructing government administration, unlawful assembly, and disorderly conduct, according to NYPD Spokesperson Detective Arlene Muniz. Another 15-year-old at the scene was also charged with menacing. The NYPD’s Internal Affairs Bureau is investigating the arrest, Muniz said.
After Scott was beaten and arrested on multiple charges, he was later released and all the charges dropped — illustrating the absurd and useless nature of the police violence.
After the video was posted online, Mayor Bill de Blasio issued a statement criticizing — not the cops who beat up and harassed a group of young men trying to get some fresh air — but the young men who became victims of police brutality.
“I want to caution that any time an officer asks someone to observe social distancing or put on a mask, the response should be to follow the instruction of the officer,” de Blasio told reporters. “Respect goes both ways.”
There have been multiple videos of NYPD officers attacking and beating people for not staying 6 feet apart. Cops don’t seem to understand that violating social distancing rules to arrest people for not social distancing and bringing them to a jail packed with other people who have been arrested for failing to social distance, is asinine.
“We’ve seen a couple videos surface in the last few days. The common denominator here is starting with a lack of compliance,” NYPD Commissioner Dermot Shea said on Monday. “Every incident is unique and has to be examined under the lens of the circumstances of that particular incident.”
As we reported on Monday, a disturbing video began making its way around social media over the weekend after it showed a cop punching and attacking a man over an alleged social distancing violation. The NYPD cop has been placed on modified duty since the video went viral.
The video showed a raging NYPD cop charging at bystanders on a Manhattan street with a Taser in his hand, NYPD Commissioner Dermot Shea said Sunday.
“I am aware of the video that’s out there. It’s being investigated currently by our Internal Affairs Bureau,” Shea said. “The results of that very preliminary investigation that’s ongoing: There was one officer who was modified, and that’s where we stand right now.”
As that video shows, NYPD officers were involved in a violent arrest of a man and a woman outside of a store for being too close together.
**NYC SOCIAL DISTANCING BUST**
NYPD are now arresting social distancing violators. Halfway in video a cop holding a taser punches a man in the head. This is escalating very rapidly. Where is leadership?
